As soon as you wake
On waking up: every dhikr, with a counter
The first words of the day, said on waking, and for those who wake in the night.
Tap the number under each dhikr every time you say it. It turns to “Done” at the count the book gives. 0 of 4 done today.
The 4 adhkar to say, in the book’s order
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba‘da ma amatana, wa ilayhin-nushur.
All praise belongs to Allah, who gave us life again after He had made us die, and to Him we will be raised.
La ilaha illallahu wahdahu… Rabbighfir li
Rabbighfir li.
There is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest; and there is no power and no strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty. My Lord, forgive me.
For waking in the night. The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever says this and then asks for forgiveness, or makes any dua, is answered; and if he makes wudu and prays, his prayer is accepted.
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ‘afani fi jasadi
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ‘afani fi jasadi, wa radda ‘alayya ruhi, wa adhina li bidhikrih.
All praise belongs to Allah, who has kept my body well, returned my soul to me and allowed me to remember Him.

The heavens and the earth were created, and night and day follow one another: in this there are signs for those who understand, those who remember Allah standing, sitting and lying down, and think deeply about how the heavens and the earth were made: “Our Lord, You did not make all this for nothing. Glory be to You! Shield us from the torment of the Fire. Our Lord, anyone You put into the Fire You have truly put to shame, and wrongdoers will find no one to help them. Our Lord, we heard someone calling us to faith, ‘Believe in your Lord’, so we believed. Our Lord, forgive our sins, wipe out our misdeeds, and let us die among the righteous. Our Lord, grant us what You promised us by Your messengers, and do not shame us on the Day of Resurrection. You never fail to keep Your promise.” Their Lord answered them: “I never let any of you lose what you have done, man or woman; each of you is from the other. Those who left their homes or were driven out of them, who suffered for My sake, who fought and were killed: I will wipe out their misdeeds and bring them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath, a reward from Allah.” With Allah is the finest reward. Do not be taken in by how the disbelievers come and go through the land: a brief enjoyment, and then Hell is where they end up, an evil place to rest. But those who fear their Lord will have gardens with rivers flowing beneath, where they will stay for ever, as a welcome from Allah; and what Allah has is better still for the righteous. Some of the People of the Book believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to you and to them, humble before Allah; they do not trade Allah’s verses for a small price. Their reward is with their Lord. Allah is quick to settle accounts. You who believe, be patient, be more patient than others, hold firm, and fear Allah, so that you may succeed.
Quran 3:190–200. When the Prophet ﷺ woke in the night, he would look up at the sky and recite these last verses of Surah Al Imran.
