Tap, or press the space bar
Tasbih counter for your daily dhikr
Choose a set and tap the circle. It moves to the next phrase at the right count, and buzzes gently where your phone allows.
Glory be to Allah
Total today: 0
Tip: on a computer, the space bar counts too. The phone vibrates gently at the end of each phrase where it can.
The sets in the dhikr counter
Five sets, each with its source.
- After each prayer: Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu akbar thirty-three times each, then once “La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir” to make a hundred (Sahih Muslim 597).
- Before sleep: thirty-three, thirty-three and thirty-four, as taught to Fatimah and Ali (Sahih al-Bukhari 3705, Sahih Muslim 2727).
- Subhanallahi wa bihamdih: a hundred times in a day (Sahih al-Bukhari 6405).
- Istighfar: “Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh” a hundred times (Sahih Muslim 2702).
- Free count: any dhikr you like, with no target.
A small amount goes a long way: give sadaqah and follow it to the people it reaches.
Keeping your place
Lock your phone and carry on later. The counter keeps today’s total and where you are in the set in your browser. Press Reset to begin a set again; a gentle buzz at the end of each phrase lets you count without looking.
