After Fajr, until the sun is well up

Morning adhkar: every dhikr, with a counter

The remembrance said at the start of the day. Most of these are also said in the evening, with “evening” in place of “morning” where the words name the time; the notes under each say so.

Tap the number under each dhikr every time you say it. It turns to “Done” at the count the book gives. 0 of 18 done today.

The 18 adhkar to say, in the book’s order

Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim. Qul huwallahu ahad. Allahus-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad. Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim. Qul a‘udhu birabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Ever-Merciful. Say: He is Allah, One. Allah, to whom everyone turns in need. He has no child, nor was He born of anyone. And there is no one like Him. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Ever-Merciful. Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak, from the harm of whatever He has created, from the harm of night when its darkness falls, from the harm of those who blow on knots, and from the harm of someone envious when he envies. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Ever-Merciful. Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the harm of the sneaking whisperer, who whispers into the hearts of mankind, whether jinn or human.

Recite each three times, morning and evening. The Prophet ﷺ said they will be enough for you against everything.

Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah

Rabbi a‘udhu bika minal-kasali wa su’il-kibar. Rabbi a‘udhu bika min ‘adhabin fin-nari wa ‘adhabin fil-qabr.

Morning has come to us, and to Allah, all dominion. Praise be to Allah. There is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. My Lord, I ask You for what is good in this day and in what follows it, and I seek refuge with You from what is bad in this day and in what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and from the troubles of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from torment in the Fire and torment in the grave.

In the evening, say instead “Amsayna wa amsal-mulku lillah” (evening has come to us, and to Allah, all dominion) and “Rabbi as’aluka khayra ma fi hadhihil-laylati wa khayra ma ba‘daha, wa a‘udhu bika min sharri ma fi hadhihil-laylati wa sharri ma ba‘daha” (what is good and bad in this night and in what follows it).

Allahumma bika asbahna

Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilaykan-nushur.

O Allah, by You we reach the morning and by You we reach the evening; by You we live and by You we die, and to You we will be raised.

In the evening, say instead “Allahumma bika amsayna, wa bika asbahna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilaykal-masir” (…and to You is our return).

Sayyid al-istighfar

O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I keep my covenant and my promise to You as far as I am able. I seek refuge with You from the harm of what I have done. I admit to You Your favours to me, and I admit my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.

The Prophet ﷺ called it the best way of asking for forgiveness. He said that whoever says it in the day with firm belief and dies before evening is one of the people of Paradise, and whoever says it at night with firm belief and dies before morning is one of the people of Paradise.

O Allah, whatever blessing I or any of Your creation have this morning is from You alone, with no partner; so all praise and all thanks are Yours.
